Lie-Buster

Gister hebben we de bestanden voor derde Mot Målet naar de drukker gestuurd, het was goed om daar eindelijk mee klaar te zijn. Het heeft voor mij meer dan een maand geduurd. Hier zijn een paar tekeningen die ik voor het blad gemaat heb. Omdat ik vormgever en tekenaar ben, kan ik dingen precies maken als ik wil.
Ik heb vier tekeningen gemaakt voor een artikel over een boek over kerk-geschiedenis. De schrijver wil in zijn boek een aantal leugens ontmantelen die de ronde doen over het christendom en kerk-geschiendenis. Met de tekeningen heb ik gespeeld met het "Ghostbusters"-logo.

Yesterday we sent all the files to the printer for the third Mot Målet magazine for this year. I have done most of the layout for this magazine, which was a very creative and fun process. Here are a few drawings that I made for the magazine. It was nice to be both the designer and illustrator for this magazine, so I can do the thing exactly like I want to.
I made four drawings for an article about a book about church-history. The writer is "busting some myths" that have been excisting about church-history. for my drawings, I have played on the "Ghostbusters"-logo.


Één van de leugens is dat fundamentalistische christenen de bibliotheek van Aleksandria afgebrand hebben. De nieuwe film Agora geeft hiervan sterk de suggestie.

One of the lies is that the church has burnt down the library of Alexandria, because they were afraid of all the scientific knowledge that is was bringing. The new movie Agora gives this impression.


Een andere klassieke leugen is dat de kerk beweerd heeft dat de aarde plat was, dat istie niet.

Another classical lie is that the church supported the though that the earth was flat. Neither of these is true.


Hier zijn de twee tekeningen die niet in het blad gekomen zijn, één over heksenverbranding en een ander over een monnik die beweerde dat vrouwen geen ziel hadden omdat het niet expliciet in de bijbel stond.

Here are two more drawings that did not make it into the magazine, one about the church being responsible for burning millions of witches. Another is about a monk that claimed that women did not have a soul, because he could not read that explicitly in his bible.


Dit was mijn werkplek voor de laatste anderhalf maand.

This was my workplace for the last month and a half.


Dit was het papiertje met de allerlaatste veranderingen voor het blad. Ik was erg blij toen ik de allerlaatste verandering door had gestreept. Op het eind is er altijd wat priegel-werk om alles precies goed te krijgen.

This is the paper with the final changes for the magazine. It was very good to cross off the last tasks. In the end there is always a lot of small things that need changing.
