Kallum an / Taking it easy

Het is paasvakantie en nu de meeste mensen zijn weg of "thuis". Ik neem er de tijd voor om "kallum an" te doen. Ik beseft dat ik niet zoveel vrije dagen heb voor de zomer, ik wil dus goed uitrustten om er in de komende maanden voor te gaan. Dingen maken die nog niet bestaan, en dingen doen die ik nog nooit gedaan heb. Deze tekening heb ik ook nog nooit eerder gemaakt, eerlijk, haha. Ja, ik heb hier behoorlijk met "dry-brush" effect gewerkt, en veel losser dan anders. Een tijdje geleden had ik maskeer-vloeistof gekocht, en dat heb ik met deze tekening gebruikt om het waterspetter-effect te maken. Hij is wel goed gelukt.

Verder kan ik nu lekker uitslapen en bijbel lezen en studeren. Een tijdje geleden had ik van mijn ouders een boek over Frits de Zwerver en de Knokploegen opgestuurd gekregen, het boek is van 1947. Dat boek ben ik nu ook in begonnen lezen. Naast de bijbel lees ik maar één boek tegelijk. Eerder had ik al het beroemde stripverhaal MAUS als kado gekregen. In het Noors. Het is één van de belangrijkste stripboeken, het gaat over de holocaust.
Met dat ik deze beide boeken gelezen heb, ben ik meer gaan zien hoe georganiseerd met er in Nederland, Duitsland en Polen (de concentratie-kampen) aan toe ging.

I have my Easter-break and most of the people are either gone or "home". I stayed here to realx and take time to draw. It dawned to me the other day that I do not have so many free days left before my summer-break. In the coming time I will be very busy with the magazines. Making things that don´t exist yet, and doing things I have not done before. It sounds rather monumental. Well, this drawing here I never made before, honestly, haha.
Yeah, here I practiced a bit more with the "dry brush" technique, I also drew a bit looser than I usually do. A while ago I bought masking-fluid, and today I used that to make the splashing effect. I think the drawing came out quite well.

Another thing I have time for is sleeping in, that is nice. I take good time to read the bible and other books. For a few weeks ago I got a book sent from my parents, about the resistance forces during the second world war in Holland, and about one reformed pastor who was a leader in this organisation. This book was written in 1947, right after the war. It is old, and it smell like that. Earlier I have been reading MAUS by Art Spiegelman. Some one had given me a Norwegian translation of this book. It is one of the most important comic books, it is about the holocaust.
With that I have been read both these book I have seen how organized people were in Holland, Germany and Poland (the Nazi-camps)
