De fluitiste en de fret / The Ferret and the Flutist

Voor de tekening van de week heb ik weer olifanten getekent. Mei is nog steeds erg druk, maar ik heb een goede week gehad, ik merk dat ik op tempo kom en dat ik meer efficienter ben met de opmaak van de artikelen. Aan het eind zien ze er uit zoals ik ze er uit wil zien, leesbaar en aantrekkelijk.

Voor deze editie van het blad communiceer ik direct met de hoofd-redacteur, Andreas Nordli. De redactie-secretaresse moet zich in deze maand op haar school-werk richtten. Het kontakt met de redacteur gaat over e-mail, omdat hij in een ander deel van het land zit, en verder de verantwoordelijkheid heeft als nationale leider voor Jeugd met een Opdracht Noorwegen. Hij verwacht dat ik de artikelen helemaal af maak voor ik ze naar hem stuur. De vorige keren had ik veel meer ruimte om het halve ideeën te komen. Ik merk dat deze manier van werken een stuk meer professionaliteit vraagt, maar ik houd er wel van.

Ze hebben me een half jaar geleden een hele verantwoording toevertrouwd, en nu merk ik dat het ook van me verwacht word. Tegelijk dat ik ook als een vakman behandeld word. Het is wonderlijk maar erg goed om dat te merken.

For this weeks drawing, I gone on from last week´s elephants. May is still a busy month, but I have had a very good week. I notice I am picking up the pace for the work, and that feels good. I am getting more and more time-effective with setting the magazine. In the end, the articles look like what I want them to look like. Attractive and readable.

For this issue, I am communicating directly with the responsible editor, Andreas Nordli. The one I was working with for the last issue has to focus her time on her studies this months. My contact with the editor is mainly over e-mail, as he is another part of the country, and enough to do with being the national director for YWAM Norway. He works different: He expects me to come with finished articles, with the previous editor I could come with half ideas and we would make something out of it together. This new way of working demands a lot more professionality of me, and I like the challenge.

They have offered me this responsibility half a year ago. They trusted me and I took it, and now I am noticing that the responsibility is demanded of me.
And I feel I am being treated as a professional, that is a wonderful and good thing to notice.
