Verjaardags-tekening met aardappel-stempeling / Potato-stamping a birthday drawing

Afgelopen zaterdag heb ik even snel een tekening gemaakt voor mijn grote broer Mattijs. Hij had donderdag zijn verjaardag. Hun zoon is nu bijna twee jaar oud, en dartelt als een welpje door het huis. Steeds wanneer ik weer nieuwe foto´s zie, ben ik er verrast over hoe snel hij groeit.

Ik heb mijn neefje nog niet zien lopen, maar hier op Grimerud lopen er genoeg van zijn leeftijdsgenootjes rond. Momenteel is er een Family-ministry-school (FMS) gaande bij ons, en dat betekent deze keer 40 extra school-kinderen.
Het is een heel gekakel.

A trick I learned a very long time ago, in primary school.
Cut a potato in half and cut stamps out of the flat surface.
I had been thinking wether I could find another material to do this with,
but nothing came to mind.

And here it got messy, just like at primary school.
Next time I might try and a more controlled way of stamping.
But this certainly was fun.

Here is the finished picture, still with the pencil-lines in it.
Getting the desired result was not so easy as I thought,
I used a brush here and there to make a recognizable word out of the smudges.
There are a lot of little kids where I live,
not sure if the drawing captures the special bobbing way their run around.
